MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS KAREKIN II, CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS, ON THE OCCASION OF THE DAY OF THE ARMENIAN ARMY
On the occasion of the Day of the Armenian Army, from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we extend our Pontifical blessings and best wishes to the officers and soldiers of our army and to our entire nation.
The role and contribution of the Armenian Army in the sacred mission of safeguarding our newly independent statehood and protecting the rights of our people are invaluable. Today, amid the serious security challenges facing our country, it is imperative to further strengthen our army so that our soldiers, with unwavering spirit and high combat readiness, may continue their sacred mission of defending the homeland. The steadfast foundation of the courageous service and heroic deeds of our servicemen has always been, and will remain, their deep love for the homeland, their devotion to national values, and their unwavering commitment to duty.
We pray for the repose of the souls of our brave sons who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the homeland.
We beseech Almighty God to keep the soldiers and commanders of the Armenian Army under His Holy Right Hand, to grant safety and prosperity to our homeland, and to bless our people across the world.
May the peace of God and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us and with all, today and always. Amen.
