Congratulatory speech by the primate of the Artsakh Diocese

Congratulatory speech by the primate of the Artsakh diocese on the Feast of St. Ghevond the Priest and His Companions

Dear priests, chaplains of the Armenian army, we sincerely congratulate you on the feast of St. Ghevond the Priest and His Companions.

Priest Ghevond and his Companions with their feat and love have been an example of piety and a source of inspiration for the Armenian clergy for centuries.

Notably, our church associates the feast of the priests with the day of remembrance of the military clergy. This shows that the Armenian Church has always been at the forefront of the defense of the Motherland. The last war in Artsakh proved once again that St. Ghevond the Priest and His Companions still live and act in the face of Father Mkrtich Mkrtchyan, Deacon Narek Petrosyan, Deacon Rustam Poghosyan and many other chaplains and priests who took part in the war.

Dear priests, today our country needs your selfless and heroic service also in peaceful conditions. You must carry the light of Christ into the hearts and minds of the people and help us hold the hand of God, our most faithful ally.

Let the example of the St. Ghevond the Priest and His Companions be a source of strength for you, and let their intercession be support during your mission.

Congratulations on the feast of St. Ghevond the Priest and His Companions.

With prayer and blessing

Head of the Artsakh diocese

Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan
