Meeting on the Challenges Facing Artsakh Armenians
On December 16, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, hosted Dr. Luis Moreno Ocampo, an Argentine lawyer, legal scholar, and former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
Welcoming the guest, Bishop Vrtanes expressed gratitude for Dr. Ocampo’s support for the people of Artsakh, not only for his objective and just stance on the Artsakh issue but also for his efforts to bring the matter to the forefront on various platforms.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:
- The rights of the people of Artsakh, including the right to return.
- Issues related to the preservation of Artsakh’s cultural and historical heritage.
- The necessity of fostering unity among the Armenians of Artsakh.
The meeting was attended by former Human Rights Ombudsman of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan, Armenia’s first Human Rights Defender Larisa Alaverdyan, Director of the Office of the Diocese of Artsakh Melanya Balayan, and Chairman of the Diocesan Council Lernik Hovhannisyan.
