The St. Hakobavank monastery is the architectural treasure of Artsakh, located in Kolatak village in Martakert region. It has been one of the most important religious centers of Artsakh for centuries, although the appearance of the monastery today is the shadow of its former glory.
On October 25, in an interview with journalists, the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan spoke about the current situation in Artsakh and the main problems.
October 11 of this year is marked in the calendar of the Armenian Apostolic Church as the Feast of Discovery of Relics of Catholicos St. Grigoris of Aghvank and the commemoration of 12 Armenian hermits.
On October 5 this year, under the chairmanship of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, a reporting meeting of priests of the third trimester, 2021 was held.
On October 3 of this year, at the initiative of the devoted son of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the head of the Aghavno community Andranik Chaushyan, by the hand of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, with the participation of the reverend priests and pious deacons of the Artsakh Diocese, in the church of St. Martyrs of the Aghavno community of the Kashatagh region a baptism ceremony was held.
On September 27, by the hand of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, a memorial service for the heroes who died in the 44-day Artsakh war was held at the Mother Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos in Stepanakert.
Today, on September 25th, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the feast of St. George the Victorious.
On September 20, in the conference hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, the grand opening of the international conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia was launched.
On September 14, 2021, a souvenir sheet with two postage stamps under the theme “Bombing of Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Cathedral of Shushi” has been canceled and put into circulation.

By the grace of God, the faithful of our church - archimandrite Tovma Khachatryan, mentor at Armenian Church Youth Organization, Nareh Hayrapetyan, Front-end Website Developer, Angelina Danielyan, officer for online church propaganda of the Artsakh Diocese have launched the official website of the Diocese to integrally cover its operation. This format is in line with modern technological advances and aims to serve this platform for the good of our people.
The site in general serves these goals:
- communicating God’s through relevant sermons and interpretation of church holidays,
- revealing and maintaining the spiritual-ecclesiastical and historical-cultural heritage of Artsakh,
- coverage of social charity programs implemented by the diocese and ensuring their continuation,
- activities aimed to preserve the Armenian national identity in Artsakh.
Corinthians 9:22 “To the weak I became weak, to win the weak”. Our initiative has been guided by these inspiring words of apostle Paul. They infer that every way should be used win people over to Christ. Therefore, we pray that God would bless and safely guide this initiative and let it be a summon to our people to turn to their Mother Church.
