The feast of palm Sunday in the functioning churches of the Artsakh Diocese

The Feast of the Palm Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday before Easter, which is dedicated to the solemn entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.

This year, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrates the Feast of the Palm Sunday on April 10.

With the blessing of His Holiness Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, many years ago the Feast was declared a day of blessing for children.

On the occasion of the Feast, on the morning of "Palm Sunday" in the functioning churches of the Artsakh Diocese, the Holy Liturgy was served, and the rite of blessing the children took place. After that, the consecrated willow branches were distributed to the believers gathered in the churches.

The solemn ceremony in the Church of the Holy Mother of God in the city of Askeran took place under the chairmanship of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan. Liturgy was served by the pastor of the church Father Mesrop Mkrtchyan.

There were many children in the house of God, who came to receive the blessing of the Holy Father.

In the Church of the Holy Mother of God of the city of Askeran, the baptism of Sunday school children and members of their families also took place.
