The appeal of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese in response to Azerbaijani threats
The Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, responded to the threats voiced by the Azerbaijani authorities against the President of the Artsakh Republic, Arayik Harutyunyan.
- It is not a secret for us that Azerbaijan continues its insidious, destructive policy. Especially after the war, who has heard any constructive statement from Azerbaijan? Everything is being done to eliminate the Armenian identity of Artsakh. And the arrest of captives, cultural genocide, and, finally, the so-called terror against state structures are not accidental. Because the President of Artsakh is represented as the head of state by the Constitution. This time, the enemy has targeted the institution of the President of Artsakh, which indicates that the statehood of Artsakh is literally under threat. By targeting the President of Artsakh, Azerbaijan is targeting the all people of Artsakh. As a citizen of Artsakh, as an Armenian, as a clergyman, I condemn the destructive decisions of Azerbaijan. For the information of Azerbaijan, we, the people of Artsakh, support our President and we are ready to ensure his safety.
