New primate of the Artsakh Diocese
On February 7, the newly-ordained Primate Vrtanes Abrahamyan served his first diocesan liturgy in Artsakh. The holy conclusion of His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch, and Catholicos of All Armenians were read. During the liturgy, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan appealed to the believers on the ordination of Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, noting that it is not a farewell to Artsakh and that he will take an active part in the realization of the bright dreams of Artsakh and the Artsakh diocese. Bishop Pargev also noted that his departure was exclusive because of his state of health.
The President of the Artsakh Republic and other government officials, monks of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the clergy of the Artsakh Diocese, Russian military personnel carrying out peacekeeping service in Artsakh, and the clergy were present at the Holy Liturgy.
