Astghashen village
Sunday School "Stars" of the church of St. George in the village of Astghashen
With the blessing of the Primate of the Diocese Sunday School opened in February 2022. The program included 20 or more children aged 8-12 years . The group got the name "Stars" of the church of St. George, because the village is known for its beautiful stone stars, and the church is named after St. George.
The main goal of the program is the education and upbringing of children in the national and church spirit. In Sunday school, children learn about national and church holidays, biblical stories, the behavior of saints, learn ethnographic songs, chants, prayers, needlework, draw thematic pictures, and participate in pilgrimages. Sunday school lessons are conducted using interactive methods, combined with various games containing elements that develop the logic and memory of children.
Sunday school classes are taught by 2 teachers and a clergyman. Classes are held in a warm atmosphere, and children participate in classes with great interest and enthusiasm.
