Landscaping and furnishing of the basement of the church of the Holy Mother of God in Stepanakert
The church of the Holy Mother of God in Stepanakert of the Artsakh Diocese has a large basement, which served as a refuge for people during the last Artsakh war.
The room was not previously used, but served mainly as a warehouse.
We plan to improve and furnish this building with appropriate means so that it serves the spiritual, pastoral and preaching purposes of the Artsakh Diocese.
If the premises are suitable, meetings of the youth union, the women's union of the Holy Mother of God, as well as spiritual social events will be held there.
The premises will also serve for the Center for Christian Education and Propaganda of the diocese:
- Implementation of spiritual, socio-psychological, religious-moral, national-spiritual, Christian propaganda activities with various social groups in the Republic of Artsakh,
- organization of spiritual film screenings and discussions,
- to create conditions in the indicated premises so that during the liturgy mothers with young children participating in the liturgy can leave their children in the care of a nanny or educator so that they can fully participate in the liturgy,
- one of the rooms adjacent to the basement will become the diocese's library, which is currently not functioning due to lack of sufficient comfortable space,
- organize youth spiritual and religious intellectual contests and games,
- organize spiritual singing lessons,
- organize training of national dances,
- etc.
Financial expenses for the improvement and furnishing of the basement of the church of the Holy Mother of God in Stepanakert amount to AMD 7,530,000:
