CALL OF THE PARISH COUNCIL OF ST. HAKOB
12 members of the parish council of St. Hakob in Stepanakert, starting from 2021, generally, gather every month on Thursdays, after the evening service, to outline their further business. On March 31, a regular meeting of the parish council was held. After saying the Lord's Prayer, the members of the Council, headed by Father Minas Movsisyan, discussed a number of organizational issues related to church life and the life of the community.
Based on the complex and difficult situation in Artsakh, Father Minas Movsisyan spoke about the mission of the Church and what the Council should do in the current conditions. The meeting participants stated that the Church should unite people, dispel negative moods and direct them to the right path. Chairman Arayik Khachatryan presented the fears of believers in connection with the difficult situation in our country, emphasizing the importance of daily prayers. It was proposed from April 1 to start daily prayers for the security and peace of our country, and Father Minas called on the population to join the initiative and pray to God. As the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church has already stated, the Joint Prayer for a safe, peaceful and prosperous life of the people of Artsakh will be held on all days of the “Head” week before Easter, from April 11 to 16, and on April 2 at 17:00, for the sake of peace in Artsakh , The Artsakh diocese invites the people to the Church for repentance and peaceful prayer.
“We call on our people to be vigilant, to pray and overcome this difficult situation with faith, not to break, not to weaken, not to despair, but to approach God not only with faith, but also with life and work. This situation is a trial period for us, and we should not weaken, but be strengthened in faith, strengthened by God. “May God protect and support us all,” said the pastor of St. Hakob Church.
