The first meeting of the diocesan council of the Artsakh Diocese was held
With the blessing of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the diocesan council of the Artsakh Diocese was created under the leadership of the Primate of the diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan. At the proposal of Bishop Vrtanes and with the approval of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the composition of the council was approved:
- Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan – the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese
- Mr. Lernik Hovhannisyan - Chairman of the Council
- Mr. Sergey Safaryan - Deputy Chairman of the Council
- Mr. Hovik Alukhanyan
- Ms. Melania Balayan
- Ms. Armine Aleksanyan
- Mr. Robert Avetisyan
- Mr. Albert Andrian
- Mr. Alexan Hakobyan:
On April 4, the first meeting of the diocesan council took place. Due to the fact that council members are located in different countries of the world, the meeting was held online. During the meeting, such priority issues as the problem of preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh and Armenian graves, work aimed at preserving the identity of Artsakh, problems faced by people of Artsakh, steps aimed at intensifying their spiritual life and other issues were discussed.
On April 5, members of the diocesan council living in Armenia met with the Catholicos of All Armenians, who gave his blessing for the start of the council’s activities. The Catholicos of All Armenians gave relevant orders aimed at the preservation and continuous activities of the Artsakh Diocese.
