Red Sunday in Artsakh Diocese

According to the church rite, this Sunday, the Holy Liturgy was also served in all the churches of the Artsakh Diocese, this time symbolizing Red Sunday.

Red Sunday symbolizes the holy blood of Christ and the martyrs who fell for the faith and the church. By an interesting coincidence, this year Red Sunday is celebrated on May 8, a day that has a symbol of victory for all Armenians, created by the blood of our soldiers who fell for our homeland and faith.

On Red Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God in Stepanakert under the chairmanship of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, the Holy Liturgy was served by Archimandrite Movses Sargsyan, Spiritual Leader of the RA Armed Forces.

The liturgy was attended by State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan, other officials, high-ranking military headed by Minister of Defense Kamo Vardanyan, as well as many of our believing brothers and sisters. All together prayed to God for the stability of the homeland, with the conviction that God always hears our prayers.

At the end of the liturgy, a patriarchal prayer was said in the Cathedral.
