INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "CULTURAL HERITAGE OF ARTSAKH"
With the blessing of the Primate of the Vayots Dzor Diocese, Archbishop Avraham Mkrtchyan, at the Yerevan State University and the Vayots Dzor Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, on the initiative of Professor Martin Tamkain from the University of Göttingen in Germany, and organized by Professor Andreas Müller from the University of Kiel, Director of the Bensheim Interchurch Research Institute, Dagmar Heller and lecturer at the American University of Armenia, researcher at YSU Intercultural Center for Religious Studies Harutyun Harutyunyan, on July 15-19, the international conference "Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held. More than thirty foreign and Armenian scientists and experts discussed the creation, historical development and modern danger of cultural values in the region of the Republic of Artsakh. With the blessing of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, the abbot of the Gandzasar monastery, Archimandrite Sahak Shakaryan, also took part in the international conference and presented his report on the danger of the cultural heritage of Artsakh. Doctor of Historical Sciences Bishop Anushavan Zhamkochyan also took part in the conference. During the conference, a number of well-known experts from Armenia, Artsakh and Europe presented scientific analysis and reports on the cultural heritage of Artsakh. It should also be noted that until today, many international organizations have expressed their position and strongly condemned the policy pursued by Azerbaijan aimed at the destruction and denial of the existence of the Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh and the surrounding regions.
