Forgetting This Is a Betrayal of the Sacred
I first learned about Artsakh at the age of 16, and later, I traversed this inseparable part of Armenia’s sacred land almost from end to end.
In the courtyard of this sanctuary, a jewel of our ancestors' civilizational efforts, I have sat alone on the bench visible to the left, smoking, while in my mind, offering gratitude to God for this blessed opportunity.
Our ancestors’ miraculous masterpiece, Gandzasar, is now, tragically, trampled by the filthy boots of barbarians. Our saint is captive, our sacred land is occupied, and forgetting this would mean betraying the sacred, betraying our ancestors and our God.
