Feast of St. Jacob the Patriarch in Artsakh

On the occasion of the feast, a liturgy was held in the functioning churches of the Artsakh Diocese named after St. Jacob.

Today the Armenian Church celebrates the Commemoration of St. Jacob the Patriarch of Nisibis, hermit St. Maruga and Bishop St. Meletios.

This day is also considered the covenant day of the ancient shrine of St. Hakobavank, where a festive liturgy was held by the Primate of the Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan and with the participation of the abbot of St. Hakobavank, the Reverend Father Hovhannes Hovhannisyan. The liturgy was attended by the clergy of the Diocese, the senior chaplain of the DF along with other chaplains, as well as pilgrims from different settlements of Artsakh.


On the occasion of the feast, a liturgy was also served in the Church of St. Jacob in Stepanakert by the hand of the Reverend Father Minas Movsisyan, in which the little pupils of the Sunday schools of the diocese also took part.
