The Sanctification of the Holy Chrism in Mayravank of Antelias
The Sanctification of the Holy Chrism is a special rite of preparation of the Chrism, which is of great importance in the life of the Church. It takes place every 7 years in the Cathedral and is then distributed to all dioceses. For the first time this year, another ceremony of The Sanctification of the Holy Chrism took place in Antelias.
On July 1 of this year, the ceremony of the Sanctification of the Holy Chrism, held in Mayravank of Antelias, was held by His Holiness, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram the First. Delegations of churches headed by spiritual leaders, as well as pilgrims from around the world, arrived in Lebanon to participate in The Sanctification of the Holy Chrism. With the blessing of His Holiness, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the Director of the Administrative Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Grace, Bishop Mushegh Babayan and the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Grace, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, took part in the rite. On the occasion of the Sanctification of the Holy Chrism, they conveyed the blessing of His Holiness, Supreme Patriarch, and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and expressed their congratulations on such a precious event for the Armenian people.
During the sacred ceremony, the Holy Chrism of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin was stirred to the Holy Chrism.
