Event Dedicated to the Proclamation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic
Under the blessing of His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, the Diocese organized an event dedicated to the Proclamation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
The event commenced with the national anthems of Armenia and Artsakh, followed by the Lord’s Prayer led by the clergy.
Mrs. Melanya Balayan, head of the Artsakh Diocese office, addressed the attendees, offering heartfelt words and congratulating everyone on the upcoming anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The event featured speeches by Mr. Gagik Baghunts, Acting Chairman of the National Assembly of Artsakh; Mr. Ashot Ghoulyan, former Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Gegham Stepanyan, Artsakh Human Rights Defender; and Mr. Artak Beglaryan, former Human Rights Defender of Artsakh. Mr. Lernik Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Diocesan Council of Artsakh, also delivered remarks.
Notably, Mr. Zakhar Keshishyan, founder of the Shushi Varanda Choir, performed the traditional Artsakh folk tune "Horovel" on the flute. The performance transported attendees, in spirit, to the highlands of Artsakh.
Students from the "Dizak Art" Center enriched the atmosphere with their renditions of traditional Armenian songs.
In his concluding remarks, Bishop Vrtanes expressed his gratitude to all those present, urging unity and resilience so that one day the Republic's Proclamation Day may again be celebrated in Artsakh itself.
