International Conference at the Tekeyan Center
On June 25, 2025, the Tekeyan Center in Yerevan hosted an international conference titled “The Eastern Regions of Armenia: Gardman – History and Reality.” During the event, over ten experts from Armenia and abroad—representing both political and academic fields—presented reports and analyses.
The conference was jointly organized by the Diocese of Artsakh of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (NAS RA), and the Araratian Values Educational Foundation. Among the attendees were descendants of Gardman, members of the National Assemblies of Artsakh and Armenia, historians, economists, political scientists, and individuals interested in the topic.
Before the official opening of the conference, the national anthems of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh were performed. The event was chaired by Lernik Hovhannisyan—former Minister of Culture of Artsakh, research fellow at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of NAS RA, and Chair of the Diocesan Council of the AAC Diocese of Artsakh—who welcomed participants and declared the conference open. His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, also offered welcoming remarks and began the event with the Lord’s Prayer. The conference concluded with a formal closing statement from the organizers.
