Day of commemoration of the beheading of John the Baptist
On Saturday, after the day of the Resurrection of Christ, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrates the day of commemoration of the beheading of St. John the Baptist. St. John the Baptist is considered the greatest saint of the Armenian Church, after the Holy Mother of God.
According to custom, this year, also, the day of commemoration of the beheading of St. John the Baptist was celebrated in all the churches of the Artsakh Diocese, named after St. John the Baptist.
In the church of St. John the Baptist of the village of Nor Shen, under the chairmanship of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, the pastor of the village, Father Serovbe Patvakanyan, celebrated the immortal and holy liturgy. At the end of the liturgy, with the help of a number of benefactors, a sacrifice was made, which was distributed to the soldiers and local residents. A cultural event was held with the participation of the children of the village.
