On December 29, a memorial service for the late Dr. Siobhan Nash-Marshall was held at Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Yerevan. The service was organized under the blessing of His Grace Bishop Anoushavan Jamkochian, spiritual overseer of Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral , and officiated by His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh. Initiated by Mrs. Kristine Harutyunyan, wife of the third President of Artsakh, the ceremony served as a tribute of respect and gratitude to Dr. Nash-Marshall, a devoted supporter of Artsakh.

Dr. Nash-Marshall was Dean of the Philosophy Department at Manhattanville College in New York, a professor of philosophy, and author of the best-selling book The Sins of the Fathers: Turkish Denialism and the Armenian Genocide. After the 44-day war in Artsakh, she became a steadfast advocate for Artsakh’s educational system and a trustee of the “CIENF Artsakh” Foundation, significantly contributing to the establishment of the “Antonia Arslan” Educational Complex in Artsakh.

In his address, Bishop Vrtanes emphasized that the people of Artsakh never forget their benefactors, whether during their lifetime or posthumously. He urged prayers for those who, despite belonging to other nations, have the courage to stand for justice and Christian truth. Bishop Anoushavan also called upon attendees to remember foreign supporters of the Armenian cause in their prayers, both in church and in private devotion, stressing that Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral remains a unifying place for Artsakh Armenians.
