109th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide
MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS KAREKIN II, CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS, ON THE COMMEMORATION OF THE HOLY MARTYRS OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
Beloved Armenian People in the Homeland and the Diaspora,
Once again, we commemorate in prayer and reverence the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, who upheld their faith, love, and devotion to the nation and homeland, accepting the crown of martyrdom.
We honor their memory at a time when our people face new existential threats and serious security challenges. Following the genocidal acts in Artsakh and the depopulation of the region, the current situation in Armenia's border areas is deeply concerning.
In the presence of the luminous memory of the Holy Martyrs, it is our sacred duty to protect the integrity of our homeland, strive for the strengthening of our independent statehood, and preserve our ancestral traditions and heritage as a sacred trust.
Our people are strong with their heroic past and determined to fight against evil and destruction. With this spirit, we must eliminate harmful manifestations contrary to our national interests, find solutions to the current complex situation through collective efforts, and build a victorious future.
Beloved faithful people, on this sacred day, let us pray with one heart, seeking the intercession of our Holy Martyrs so that under the grace and blessings of the Risen Christ, our homeland and nation may live in peace, security, and prosperity, and we may continue our journey with faith and hope toward safety and progress.
May the love and care of the Lord be a shield for our homeland and all our people now and forever. Amen.
