Christmas Celebration for the Children of Artsakh

On December 28, the "Light for the Children of Artsakh" educational program hosted a Christmas event. The celebration began with the national anthem of Artsakh, followed by children performing traditional songs, dances, and recitations enriched with the dialect of Artsakh, vowing to return to their beloved homeland. The event was attended by former state officials of Artsakh.

In his speech, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan highlighted the importance of such educational initiatives: "The current situation of the Artsakh Armenians urges us to be more united, to implement purposeful programs, and to always keep Artsakh and its statehood in our minds and hearts." Arshavir Gabudjyan, Director of the "Light for Children" educational programs of the Danish-Armenian Mission, added: "We don’t ask Santa Claus to bring us anything. Instead, we ask him to take us back to our beautiful homeland of Artsakh."

Taron Tarverdyan, Head of the Armenian Bible Society’s Artsakh-related projects, spoke about the role of the Bible in children’s lives and congratulated them on the upcoming Christmas and New Year.

The event included an exhibition of colorful carpets with national motifs created by children during art therapy sessions. The most active four participants were awarded certificates and books.

At the end of the celebration, the Armenian Bible Society distributed thematic Bibles to all children. With the efforts of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese’s parishioners and the Ladies’ Union of the Saints Vardanants Martyrs Church, the children also received beautiful Christmas gifts from Santa Claus.
