Memorial service in remembrance of the victims of the Maraga tragedy

Thirty years ago, about 50 civilians in the village of Maraga, Martakert region, were tortured and killed by the Azerbaijani armed forces.

At the initiative of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Artsakh, the pastor of the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God in Stepanakert, Father Nerses Asryan served a memorial service in remembrance of the dead residents of the village of Maragha.

The memorial service was also attended by residents of the village of Maraga. After the 2020 war, they were displaced for the second time, leaving their homes. Those present with great pain remembered the Maraga tragedy, calling it genocide.
