Near Old Qyatuk, the remains of the Spitak Holy Church, an adjacent cemetery, and the sacred site of Zinavor were preserved. In the second half of the 19th century, the Church of the Holy Mother of God (St. Astvatsatsin) was built in the village.<\/p>\n

The villagers endured particularly difficult times during the Armenian-Tatar clashes of 1905\u20131906 and 1917\u20131920.<\/p>\n

In 1930, a collective farm was established in the village, which was later merged with the Khanapat collective farm.<\/p>\n

A total of 121 residents of Qyatuk participated in the Great Patriotic War, of whom 68 perished.<\/p>\n

Notable figures originating from Qyatuk include oil industrialist and philanthropist Mikael Aramyants, Doctor of Geological Sciences and Professor Sergey Balasanyan, and Hero of Artsakh, Major General Vitaly Balasanyan.<\/p>\n

According to Makar Barkhudaryants, in the 19th century Old Qyatuk had up to 500 households. In 1987, the village had 30 houses and 73 residents; by 2018, this had declined to 6 houses and 7 residents.<\/p>\n

In September 2023, as a result of the forceful occupation of the entire territory of Artsakh and the mass displacement of the Armenian population of Artsakh, the village was completely depopulated.<\/p>\n
