It was one of the spiritual centers of the Khaghbakyan noble family of Artsakh and was built during the 11th\u201312th centuries.<\/p>\n<p>The name \u201cKoshik\u201d is likely derived from the word \u201cgoshk\u201d, which refers to groups of hermits living in the mountains. Since 2023, along with the entire territory of the former Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, the monastery has been under occupation by the Republic of Azerbaijan.
